Freudian Clip The Film Club. Tuesday October 7th 6.30 pm Royal College of Psychiatrists HQ London – all welcome
We are showing ‘Side Effects’ starring Jude Law, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Channing Tatum.
‘Side Effects’ is described as a psychological thriller following the events where a new anti-depressant (the fictional drug Ablixa) has some unexpected and dangerous side-effects. To promote the movie, a website for Ablixa was created. The film possibly raises interesting questions about how prescribing sits within psychological therapy, and also the hidden motivations behind psychiatry, marriage, relationships, psychiatrists and their patients. Before and after seeing the film, discuss its meaning and implications over canapes and a glass of wine – all included in the ticket price of £7.00. The event is hosted by psychiatrist Dr Raj Persaud and starts at 6.30pm at the Royal College of Psychiatrists Headquarters at:
21 Prescot Street, London E1 8BB Tuesday October 7th.
Pre-booking via the meet up site is essential.
Nearest tube stations are Aldgate and Aldgate East. Everyone is welcome – psychiatrists, psychotherapists, psychologists, users of mental health services and the public. CPD points are available for this event from City CBT Coaching College and certificates will be distributed on the night for those who want them for their CPD portfolio.
