NIGHTCRAWLER is a pulse-pounding thriller set in the nocturnal underbelly of contemporary Los Angeles. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Lou Bloom, a driven young man desperate for work who discovers the high-speed world of L.A. crime journalism.

Finding a group of freelance camera crews who film crashes, fires, murder and other mayhem, Lou muscles into the cut-throat, dangerous realm of nightcrawling – where each police siren wail equals a possible windfall and victims are converted into dollars and cents.

Aided by Rene Russo as Nina, a veteran of the blood-sport that is local TV news, Lou thrives. In the breakneck, ceaseless search for footage, he becomes the star of his own story. (c) Open Road

Before and after seeing the film we will discuss its meaning and implications over canapés sandwiches and a glass of wine – all included in the ticket price of £15.00.
Please arrive at 6.30pm for refreshments and networking.

Film screened at 7.00pm
Everyone is welcome – psychiatrists, psychotherapists, psychologists, coaches, users of mental health services and the public.

The aim of the Freudian Clip Film Club is to promote understanding of psychiatry, psychology, psychotherapy, psychological problems and psychiatric disorder through the medium of film.

City CBT Coaching College will provide a continuing professional development (CPD) letter confirming two hours of CPD.

Thanks for a warm and friendly atmosphere and a convivial debate. I really appreciated the insights from the mental health professionals and particularly enjoyed Raj’s facilitation style. I will definitely be there at the next!

I really enjoyed the evening. I did find the film rather slight and, ultimately, conventional – begging several questions. But that didnt mean it wasnt a stimulating experience. The comments that most stuck in my mind from others were regarding the shadow of leadership and the film as a satire on capitalism.
